altrntv labs is an independent research and product strategy practice run by Tyler Wales.

Before starting altrntv, Tyler worked at EMURGO across business development, product integration, marketing, and treasury deployment. His later work focused on evaluating tokenized real-world assets for potential capital deployment, wallet integration, and secondary-market infrastructure.

Much of the onchain value to date has been self-referential, driven by token incentives, trading activity, or the next buyer. Tokenization changes the opportunity set by bringing traditional financial assets onchain, but issuance alone is not enough.

Tokenized products do not become useful because they are issued onchain. They need clear structure, credible operations, real distribution, and a reason for capital to participate.
